Name one of the habit Herb Clutter is known for. How is this pertinent to the crime?

I'm going to go with the fact that he never locked the doors at his home. That's the only bad habit I can think of that would have been pertinent ot the crime. The fact there wasn't a safe is null and void; that was rumor and speculation. Other than that the Clutters were a pretty pristine family.
