In Cold Blood

In Cold Blood Rhetorical Analysis Questions

For my AP class I'm suppose to annotate the book, "In Cold Blood" by Truman Capote. In order to annotate i need to use these four questions....

1. What is the main idea of the text- the chief point he is trying to make? What are the subcordinate ideas that contribute to the main idea?

2. Why did the author write the text? What did the author hope readers would gain from it? What did the author assume about the knowledge of the readers, and how are these assumptions reflected in the text?

3. What method(s) does the author use to develop the main idea, and how do the methods serve the author's subject and purpose? How does the organization serve the author's subject and purpose?

4. How are the author's main idea and purpose revealed at the level of sentences and words? How does the author use language to convey his or her attitudes toward the subject and to make meaning clear and vivid?

I have no idea where to start or what i am looking for, if you know or find any annotations from these questions of the book please right back i am struggling and this is due ASAP. :(

There are too many questions here for this short answer forum. Many of your questions are thematic in nature, like your first question, and it would be helpful to you to check out the GradeSaver link below:
