What did the English lady want from David?

The English lady was trying to ascertain if David was alright. She wanted to make sure that if he needed help, they could get it for him. At first, David was suspicious of her questions..... afterward, he realized that she was being kind and thoughtful. In the end, he found her attention to be a source of comfort.
