Russian claims Kurtz has enlarged his mind and cannot be subjected to the same moral judgments as normal people. I suppose words like supernatural or a jungle mystic come to mind.I think that, like Marlow, the Russian understands what separated Kurtz from the average man. There was something of an awe about Kurtz that other Europeans did not understand, Marlow did. The Russian is not insane like Kurtz. He is more or less attracted to the glamor of adventure. His unwavering support of Kurtz makes him humble and admirable.
