in coketown, with the "clss" you were brought into, is there a diffeent jobs than another person in a different class.

The most interesting "division of labor" in Hard Times is the distinction between "hands" and "legs." The former represents the intense physical labor of the typical factory setting in the British Industrial Revolution. The latter is primarily concerned with a different kind of "labor": namely, sexuality.
