How would Hamlet and Horatio compare in the novel?

Both men are best friends. They share some similar traits. They are both university educated. Both seem to disdain corruption. Horatio is a loyal follower of Prince Hamlet: perhaps the only man he truly trusts in the play. They are both passionate and emotional.
