How are maria an jordan similar?

I don't have the book handy, but I could look through the etext for you. Maria and Jordan only have three and a half days together, and their relationship begins and ends with desire....... they're both involved in the war. Jordan needs to blow up a bridge, and Maria is a part of Pablo's band (well, she stays at their hideout).

Jordan has become somewhat cynical, and Maria is naive for all of her experience with the guerrillas. I can't think of many similarities, but I can dig a bit further for you.
