What ironic difference does Zeeba's absence make in Frome's kitchen?

There is a light heartedness in the kitchen. Ethan and Mattie actually have an emotional connection that is positive and a little romantic. I don't think that kitchen had ever witnessed this between Ethan and Zeena.
