Kamala Markandaya
Kamala Markandaya was a British Indian novelist.
Born in Mysore, India to an upper-middle-class Brahmin family, Markandaya studied at Madras University before working as a journalist. When India declared independence from Britain in 1947, Markandaya moved to London, England.
