How does Abuelita respond to the fire? What does this tell us about her as a person?

Abuelita takes the loss of their home in stride, she injures herself and goes to the nunnery to recuperate without question waiting for the time she can join her family. Abuelita also thinks of others first, as she urges her Esperanza not to fear starting over. She shares her past and applies it to Esperanza's future.
