What are ethical concerns reporters have when they are writing about children in danger and how does this realate to Sonia Nazario's experiences

I think reporters walk a fine line in being objective and not taking responsibility to help a child in distress. A reporter's job is to not personally become involved with their subjects however there are certain ethical responsibilities when their subject is a child. This is a murky area. Would, in the end, the child like Enrique be hurt or helped by the reporter's involvement?
