Why does General Pace of the i.e. military police come the battle school?

General Pace visits the battle school to discuss the threat that Bonzo poses to Ender. Graff has a theory that Ender cannot expect adult intervention...... that he must learn to protect himself. Thus, Graff refuses to protect Ender, and General Pace warns him the he will court martial Graff if his theory is wrong.
