What is the relationship between Ender, Peter, and Valentine?

Valentine and Ender are close siblings. Valentine protects Ender from Peter who is a bully to both of them. As Ender matures, he worries about leaving Valentine alone with Peter. Valentine, however, is smart and can handle herself with Peter.
