Is the treatment by the IF right or wrong toward Ender?

In the book Ender's Game Ender may be mankind's only chance for survival aginst an alien attack and at a young age he is loaded down with lots of burdens and subjected to much cruelty.Iis the treatment by the IF right or wrong in their treatment of Ender?

Ender is the ONE....... he is the one who will save mankind. I don't agree with all of their actions (and I'll never figure out why Ender is SOOOOOO YOUNG) but they did what they had to do to get him prepared for his ultimate role. Is it right? No Is it necessary? Maybe. None-the-less, they did get the boy ready.
