How do Locke and Peter relate to each other?

Peter is "Locke," the levelheaded peacemaker. Much like Valentine, Peter relates to Locke with a reverse chemistry that works. It's like Peter understands even cares for his opposite. His own aggressive nature nurtures the level headed alter ego and this works the other way around as well.
