Card doesn't draw a line between good and evil within the novel. We see evil personified in Peter's character, but soon have to take a second look. The actions he initially performs for his own good actually saves lives. We also sometimes see love in his character....... the capability of love, often shrugged aside, but sometimes acted upon. Peter is occasionally known to do good, unfortunately, it is usually by accident.
Then there's Valentine. Most people think that Ender is the direct representaive of goodness, but I see that same definition as applying to Valentine's character. She's loving, unselfish, and loyal. Her intentions are always positive actions to support those she loves...... Ender being the main recipient.
Ender, for many, is goodness personified. He is ignorant of any acts we would consider evil (blame Graff and Rackham) because he has been manipulated by others...... people he trusts. It is sad that this beautiful, young boy, who never wanted to harm anyone inflicts the most harm and must live with the guilt.
