Ender's Game Chapter 12

Ender is being transferred to Command School. The author reveals that, "Ender wanted to go back home, back to Battle School, the only place in the universe where he belonged." What is ironic about Ender's attitude?

Ender sees the Battle School as the only home he has, Once he gets back to Earth, he isn't sure he has anywhere else to go..... so he needs to go somewhere he's comfortable. This is ironic because if he'd never left home and gone to the Battle School, he wouldn't have been pushed into the emotional eshaustion that brought him back.
