Ender is a boy with endless potential. This is why he is sought after by the battle school. Ender struggles to be like all the other boys but finds that he is different both emotionally and intellectually. When pushed, Ender has the capability to inflict violence on others. Ender finds himself reflecting on what it might be like to be "normal", "He toyed with the idea of trying to be like the other boys.” AS Ender progresses in Battle School he continually struggles with what will eventually be his destiny. Ender will be expected to kill and again he struggles, “I didn't want to kill them all. I didn't want to kill anybody! I'm not a killer!” Ender will eventually come to accept his role but I think this conflict will always exist.
