In Don Quijote de la Mancha, why is that Alonso Quijano died but Don Quijote did not die? En Don Quijote de la mancha, por que Alonso Quijano muere pero no lo hace Don Quijote?

My teacher asked this question and I think maybe is because Don Quijote is a fictional character but I don´t know exactly the answer
