What effect does Wu chun mei have on Adeline?
how she lifts her up
how can she be influencing her even though she is not that economically that stable.

Wu Chun-mei, was the most loyal and valued friend that Adeline had. It was Wu Chun-mei, who nominated Adeline to be class president.... and when she won the election, Wu Chun-mei arranged for everyone to bring gifts to Adeline's home in celebration.

Wu Chun-mei was a great support to Adeline and guided her through the many tough times that Adeline faced. School was an outlet for Adeline because it was a place where she could escape her traumitising home life, and somewhere she could be accepted as a normal person and as a friend to some people. Wu Chun-mei treated her as a friend and this helped Adeline to overcome her fears and troubles. But having Wu Chun-mei as a friend also added peer pressure for Adeline because she wasn't allowed to participate in things like birthday parties and so on. But most friends do, and when Wu Chun-mei forced Adeline to join her at her party, Adeline got in a lot of deep trouble afterwards.
