Don Issachar and the Grand Inquisitor serve as examples of hypocrisy. Don Issachar, a Jew, held an important position as a court banker. He was also an influential merchant. His position, however, held no weight because he was Jewish. As a result, his body is disrespectfully thrown into the sewer. The Grand Inquisitor, on the other hand, a man who burned innocent people at the stake, was given the respect of a proper burial.
