how does buck position changes in society as he moves into the primitive world

Buck has to adapt quickly as he moves into the primitive world. He learns quickly that strength survives and weakness destroys. He learns that he must fight for food and place with his fellow dogs. To be alpha dog of the pack he must fight Spitz to the death. He learns that man is God but that he can move beyond man once his debt is paid to Thornton. Once he transcends man, he can truly take his place in the primitive.
