If you would ask Jess's father two questions, what would they be?

I'm sorry, this is a short answer literature forum designed for text specific questions. The question you've asked has no right or wrong answer. One thing I might ask Jesse's father about would be his lack of outward affection for his son. We know that boys were treated differently than girls during this time. but what harm could the occasional hug do? Also, why weren't the girls made to help outdoors? Again, this question has to do with gender roles.... girls were taught to work inside the home. None-the-less, why not give them the opportunity to learn?
