Why does Kaelo agree to his daughter's marriage to Oloisudori?

Oloisudori is a powerful man, and he is so feared by everyone that the people believe he will never be brought to justice. When he makes known his intent to marry Resian, he knows that her father will not say no because to do so would mean the end of his business and livelihood.
