1. The first and most important characteristic of Aristotelian contemplation is that it is "an end in itself." 2. Contemplation also requires habituation (it cannot just happen overnight). 3. It is not pleasure in the banal sense. 4. Finally, it is not even a moral virtue. I hope these ideas help.
