Antigone is an example of The State -vs- the Indiidual. She breaks the law and buries her brother even after she's told it is a crime to do so. For Antigone, there is no question that her brother should have a proper burial, and she stands by her decision even in the face of death. Her words to Creon (her uncle) are:
"I believe there are more important laws than yours. Unwritten laws. Older laws laid down by god. You are a man, you can't just cancel the laws made by Zeus. Those are the laws I'd be afraid to break. I had to bury my brother. I could not leave him out there. If your law says I have to die, I do not care."
