The pigs took the milk for themselves, citing they needed it more then the others. This act would expand into other acts.... the taking of money, the abuse and murder of other animals, the misuse and representations of their actions. Over and over again, the pigs will both manipulate and cheat the other animals, and it all began with the apples and the milk.
