How is Vera Claythorne different from Wargrave? How is she similar to him
Judge Wargrave is very smart, very tough, and very much in control. He's unfeeling and lacks compassion. Wargrave isn't the best looking either, something that adds to the reactions of people around him. Once the group starts looking for possible motives among themselves, Wargrave leads the pack and intrudes on the islands other guests, seemingly doing his lifetime job..... which would be dispensing justice. Unfortunately, his place in society also leads the other guests to follow along.... and possible miss the fact that he is the murderer.
Vera is a far different character, but none-the-less, is not an angel either. Like Wargrave, she's very intelligent. She's also calculating...... evident by her actions in allowing her former charge to drown in the hopes her lover would inherit his money. Unlike Wargrave, Vera is capable of feeling guilt.... she has a conscience.
