Why was Guzzo more persistent than usual when trying to convince Quinn and Jill to sit at his table during lunch?

Rashad's arrest is the talk of social media, and it has further broken down a basketball team that already lacked cohesion. When Guzzo approaches Quinn and Jill, he wants to sit down quickly.... not to draw attention, but when they do, Jill accidentally lets it slip that she is aware that Quinn and Guzzo saw the whole thing.
