The White Rabbit approaches Alice.He is in search of his gloves and fan. Alice searches for them but cannot find them. The White Rabbit mistakes Alice for his housemaid, Mary Ann, and commands her to go to his house and fetch his gloves and fan. Alice is startled and a little afraid so she does as she is told.
