Alice in Wonderland
What victorian attitudes might carroll be mocking or satirizing in this poem?
Jabberwocky?
Jabberwocky?
Carroll mocks Victorian society throughout Alice in Wonderland. The story has an evident class system; we have the Monarchs, the Duchess (elite), the Mad Hatter (a commoner) and his obsession (making fun of) tea time.
Living along the river we have the hooka smoker, and the homeless. But throughout we have the overriding suggestion that Victorian England judged by status rather than who and what people really were.
