how do the villagers treat the angel? why? what do some of them believe should happen to him? why?

The villagers are enthralled by the angel and rush to catch a glimpse. In response, Elisenda begins to charge admission. Over time, people begin to travel to town.... people who wanted to be healed, and people who were merely curious. All in all, the old man became a freak show..... particularly, after the carnival came to town.
