How does Mariam use religion as a source of comfort?

Despite religion being used to subjugate women, Mariam also uses he religion for comfort. She sees her sufferings as God's will and that eventually God (Allah) has a better plan for her. She prays for strength throughout the story. Mariam has great strength but weather it was Allah that gave it to her or just Mariam's own tenacity is up to the reader to decide.
