When Ishmael gets lost in the forest, he decides to stop and familiarize himself with his immediate vicinity. He cannot gain a sense of direction. so he clears away leaves and creates a path from the stream to his campsite. Knowing he had food and water nearby, Ismael decides that the thing he needs most is rest.
