"Freedom" really depends on your point of view. To many people in China, Freedom means agreement with government and working for the common good of the people. Freedom needs to be looked through the cultural lens of the place. Generally, the American ethos of perceived independence and freedom of thought would make life difficult in a country that is driven by government and heavily regulated.
